Weapons & Relics
Aërwa holds within its long and troubled history countless weapons of legend: Swords borne by forgotten kings, spears raised beneath the banners of ancient hosts, axes and bows whose names have endured long after those who wielded them passed into dust. Some were forged by master smiths whose craft has never been equaled; others are said to have been shaped through arts now lost to the world.
Yet weapons are not the only remnants of ages past. Relics of great and mysterious power lie scattered throughout Aërwa, concealed within ruined sanctuaries, buried beneath fallen kingdoms, guarded in remote places, or hidden where few living souls would dare to venture.
Of some, their existence is known, of others, only fragments remain in ancient chronicles, songs, and forbidden writings. There are those spoken solely in whispers — objects whose names have survived as legends and myths, their true nature forgotten and their resting places unknown. Whether all such tales are true, no scholar can say, but in Aërwa, legends have a way of enduring for a reason.
Voräkin’s Sword
The Voräkin’s Blade is the staple weapon of the Voräkin: Huntsmen, trackers, wanderers, and professional monster slayers whose trade takes them into the most perilous reaches of the wild. Unlike the common swords carried by soldiers, guardsmen, or outlaws, a Voräkin’s Blade is forged from hardened steel, subjected to a more demanding forging and tempering process that gives the weapon greater durability and resistance. Such blades are consequently expensive. Yet a Voräkin does not contend merely with another man’s flesh and bone. The hides, scales, carapaces, and carcasses of monsters can be extraordinarily resilient, and a lesser blade may chip, bend, or break when confronted with them.
