The Pilgrimage of Light
The cover of Paladin of God – Ascension: The Pilgrimage of Light was conceived as more than an introduction to the novel — it was designed as the visual gateway into Aërwa. Inspired by the sense of mystery, grandeur, danger, and adventure that defined the classic fantasy films and artwork of my childhood, the composition pays tribute to those influences while establishing an identity entirely its own.
At its heart stands a simple image: A solitary traveler crossing an ancient forest toward forgotten ruins illuminated by a distant light. Rather than depicting battle or spectacle, the cover captures the quiet moment before the adventure begins— the uncertainty of the road ahead and the irresistible promise of discovering what lies beyond.
Developed through weeks of close collaboration with the creative team, every aspect of the artwork — from its lighting and colors to its atmosphere and composition — was refined to evoke mystery, exploration, hope, and pilgrimage.
The result became not merely the cover of my first novel, but the first glimpse of the world I had imagined for decades: An invitation to enter Aërwa, follow the light, and discover what waits beyond the ruins.

Early Sketches
These early sketches represent the first visual concepts developed from the initial creative brief I shared with the team at Creative Publishing Book Design. My vision centered on the main protagonist of the novel traversing a dark, ancient forest, drawn toward mysterious ruins hidden in the distance. These preliminary illustrations allowed us to explore the composition, perspective, atmosphere, and overall mood of the cover before refining the finer details through successive revisions, ultimately leading to the final approved design.
