Ruben D. A. Barco is the creator of the Paladin of God saga and the world of Aërwa, a richly imagined fantasy setting inspired by mythology, history, archaeology, and constructed languages.

His debut novel, Paladin of God – Ascension: The Pilgrimage of Light, is the first installment in an epic fantasy saga that explores faith, sacrifice, friendship, hope, and the enduring struggle between light and darkness.

A lifelong admirer of classic fantasy, Ruben draws inspiration from authors such as J.R.R. Tolkien, Robert E. Howard, and Andrzej Sapkowski, while also incorporating influences from ancient civilizations and medieval history. Over many years, he developed the cultures, languages, mythology, and history of Aërwa to create a living world that extends far beyond the pages of a single novel.

When he is not writing, Ruben enjoys studying mythology, archaeology, medieval history, and exploring fantasy video games that continue to inspire his imagination. He is also dedicated to expanding the universe of Paladin of God, developing new stories, cultures, languages, and histories within the world of Aërwa.
