Alchemy has been woven into the history of Aërwa since the earliest ages of its creation. It is the ancient art and study of discovering the properties hidden within the materials of the natural world and learning how to extract, combine, bind, and magnify them.
Roots, flowers, minerals, resins, fungi, essences, and countless other substances gathered throughout Aërwa may possess seemingly humble qualities on their own. Through the Alchemist’s craft — and the intervention of carefully prepared alchemical bases — these properties can be coaxed, concentrated, and transformed into far more potent forms.

Named for the tireless vigor of its namesake, Hummingbird’s Wing is one of Aërwa’s most common restorative potions. Brewed from marigold, melaleuca, echinacea, turmeric, and lavender, their natural properties are concentrated and transformed through nigredo, producing the potion’s distinctive light-green hue. Carried frequently by Voräkines into the wild, a single vial acts almost immediately, closing minor cuts and scratches, reducing bruising, and restoring lost vitality. Warriors typically consume it during a brief respite from combat before returning to the fight. Its powers are strictly restorative: Hummingbird’s Wing cannot cure disease, neutralize poison, remove hexes, or provide continuous regeneration. It offers instead a swift restoration of physical health when it is needed most.
